i may be wrong but i think that protocol usually foresees a translator when two HoS meet, even if they may not really need a translator.

Isn´t it impolite to turn their backs on the emperor and empress - just a thought. Maybe that is why they look a little sour.

The tiara's crooked state is accentuated by the lop sided hair style too.

Maxima is over the top.
She goes out for maximum effect.
I think she's fun all the same.     :cancan:

Maxima is the opposite of her Japanese hosts who seem to be models of decorum and constraint.
